Mallory Park - 25 May 2008
It rained all day without a break, and all the Jaguar drivers, in both races, rose to the challenge and coped exceptionally well with a flooded track and truly treacherous conditions.

First in qualifying, first off the line and first to the flag with fastest lap to his credit, was Richard Dorlin who demonstrated outstanding driving ability on the day. No-one could match him as he completed his laps more than 20 seconds ahead of the chasing pack of Simon Lewis, Phil Woods, Nick Gwinnutt and Chris Boon, this group with no more than 6 seconds from front to back were swapping places all the way round the track.
Peter Dorlin's beautiful black mark 2 was in second with fastest class lap, until passed by Lewis, but then lost position as a result of a spin, to finish in seventh place. Brian George spent a good part of the race shadowing the mark 2 of Colin McKay, but eventually found a way past, whilst Neil Taylor in the modern S type made steady progress from a lowly qualifying position to advance seven places. There was more close racing among groups further back, with Rick Walker, Dean Sewell and Ken Angell finishing with just a second between them.

Derek Pearce followed his win at Brands Hatch with pole at Mallory, but it was the previous race winner, Stewart Lydall, who took off into the lead, closely followed by Andrew Harrison and Paul Merrett from the fourth row of the grid, with Pearce in fourth. Merrett was to last just three laps, as Chris Palmer put in the fastest lap and also moved ahead of Pearce to close on to the back of Lydall. They finished in this order.
Drive of the day goes to the fast improving Matt Skelton who worked his way up from qualifying thirteenth to finish fourth, and also take the class win and fastest class lap. The mid field battle was between Gary Hastings, Ray Hill, Alex Harrison and Lawrence Ball, with Hill coming out on top, whilst in a race of their own at the rear, but with a competition no less intense for that, were Phil Taylor, Paul Reynolds, Robert MacVicar and Roger Webster.
